Help Us Help Our Neighbors
There are many ways to get involved at Polk City UMC!

Loving God by loving our neighbors is at the heart of all we do at Polk City UMC. Leaders from our Children’s Ministry, Youth Group, United Women in Faith, the Comet Cupboard Food Pantry, DMARC, and Men-on-a-Mission work together to plan ways for disciples of all ages to engage in service and mission.

Monthly Mission Focus

Each month, we choose a mission focus.

Our September Birthday Cup offering will support Families Forward, an organization that works to provide compassionate, life-changing assistance to families on their path to self-sufficiency.

We will be collecting these most needed items: 13 gal. garbage bags, Tide Free & Gentle laundry pods, and plastic grocery bags

This month we’re supporting the Comet Cupboard and DMARC Food Pantry Network with funds and jars of peanut butter. On Sunday, October 26, kids will be Trick-or-Treating for Missions during worship for the October Birthday Cup! Wear your costumes, and bring some change for missions and some treats for the kids. Celebrate the joy of generosity

The Youth Group is hosting a meal packaging event with Outreach, Inc. on Wednesday, November 18th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Wing. All ages are welcome!  DMARC and Comet Cupboard will be the beneficiaries of some of these packaged meals.

100% of our Christmas Eve offering will benefit our Christmas Mission. This year’s offering benefits:

This year our Christmas mission will support CFUM, Children and Family Urban Movement.

February will kick off our collection for the DMARC Douglas Woods matching challenge. Birthday Cup funds in February will benefit DMARC.

You may also donate peanut butter and fruit canned in juice for the DMARC food pantries.

Save the date for the annual Pie and Cake Auction, one of our two main fundraisers for the year!
