“Things were better back then.” Nostalgia is one of the most tender forces in our lives; it carries us back to warm memories, simpler seasons, and the people and places that shaped us. Honoring the past is good and right. But nostalgia can also quietly convince us that the best days are behind us, leaving us longing for what was instead of looking for what God is doing now. Through the prophet Isaiah, God says, “I am about to do a new thing; do you not perceive it?” This week we’ll explore how to treasure the past while keeping our eyes open for the new thing God is bringing to life in our midst
