Matthew 18:1-5 | Psalm 8:1-4

Scripture and Sermon begin at 31:42

We tend to think of growing up as a one-way journey, moving from childhood toward something better, wiser, more capable. Children are precious, of course, but the real work of faith is for the grown-ups, right? And yet Jesus keeps turning this upside down. He welcomes the children his disciples try to shoo away. He listens to the kids shouting praise in the temple when the religious experts want them silenced. He tells us that the kingdom of God belongs to people like these. This week we’ll explore what children know that we may have forgotten, and what it might mean to receive the kingdom with their kind of wonder and trust.
