Supporting DMARC and Fighting Hunger in Iowa

The Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) Food Pantry Warehouse has experienced a demanding 2025. As I have reported before, they experienced their busiest day of all time on November 3rd, 2025. They assisted 2,494 clients setting a record in their 50 years of existence. With the SNAP program problems, 1 in 3 of  were on the SNAP program. Kathy Underhill, the new DMARC CEO, stated: "to everyone in the Des Moines metro that isn't sure where their next meal will come from: our doors are open and we will do everything we can to make sure you don't leave without food." 

As this year comes to an end, please remember those words and that hunger does not take a vacation as we settle back into our everyday routines.
