There are many ways to give to support the ministry of Polk City UMC.
Whether offered in person, online, or by mail, your gift supports the ministry, outreach, and operations of our church and allows us to share the love of Christ in our community. Thank you for your extravagant generosity!
Give Online
Give a one-time gift or set up recurring giving with a credit card or bank account using our Vanco online giving platform.
Set Up an ACH Bank Transfer
Submit a completed ACH Form to our Financial Secretary, Charlotte Loter, to set up (or change) a bank draft from a checking or savings account. Contact Charlotte with questions.
Giving through ACH incurs fewer transaction fees and allows more of your gift to support our ministry!
Give by Check or Cash
You may give by check or cash in the offering plate on Sunday mornings or mail a check to the church. Make your check out to “Polk City United Methodist Church” and designate your gift for a specific offering, if desired.

Your gifts to Polk City United Methodist Church make an impact!
2024 has been an amazing year of loving God and loving neighbor! Here are a few highlights of the impact of our ministry together during 2024:
Fighting Hunger Together
- Deeply committed to addressing food insecurity in our community, we continue to support the North Polk Comet Cupboard and DMARC.
- Our Youth Group packaged meals for Meals from the Heartland, hosted an Outreach Inc. meal packaging event, and led a Trick-or-Treat for Food Insecurity drive that gathered over 1,000 food items for DMARC and the Comet Cupboard!
- Through CFUM (Children & Family Urban Movement), we provided nourishing meals for families in the Drake and River Bend neighborhoods.
- Through our “Birthday Cup,” we continue to celebrate together while making a difference through our monthly offerings supporting Families Forward, formerly Bidwell Riverside, to assist local families in need.
Serving in our Community and Beyond
- On Mission Trip, our Youth Group served residents in Mexico, Missouri, while our adult mission team served in Oklahoma, offering helping hands and open hearts.
- A group from PCUMC joined the Habitat for Humanity Faith Build, supporting efforts to create affordable housing for families in central Iowa.
- The PCUMC Men on a Mission team made a positive impact locally, helping with tree removal and home repairs.
- Our United Women in Faith served at local organizations such as Mary’s Helping Hands, DMARC, and T.A.K.E.
Welcoming & Connecting
- Hospitality improvements and sanctuary rearrangement have helped create a welcoming space with room for new people.
- We welcomed 48 children to “Camp Firelight,” and our Vacation Bible School mission project collected school supplies for students in Honduras.
- New discipleship and small groups are forming to deepen our connection with God and one another.
- Our 30 Mile Connection “BeUMC on the Trail” event connected us with our United Methodist neighbors as we built relationships and embodied a positive presence in our community.
